Urban Warriors seek to replicate Pirates result

After winning two league matches in a row, Cape Town Spurs now turn their attention to their fixture against Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership that will take place on Wednesday evening at the Orlando Stadium. Kick-off is at 19:30 CAT.

The goal for the Urban Warriors is to keep building on the positive results and to not give up their fighting spirit. Late last year, Spurs won their last league match against Pirates and will be looking to replicate that same result in tomorrow’s fixture.

The team does not want to be complacent at the moment despite picking up some decent results, there’s still a lot of work to do. Spurs are now three points behind Richards Bay in the league.

Ashley Cupido has been impressive in his last two starts, scoring goals and contributing to the team’s effort to stay competitive in the South African top flight.

Sea Robbers coach Jose Riveiro has commented on the upcoming match and has stated that he will not be underestimating the Urban Warriors. 

“Spurs are probably in the best moment of the season, so less room for us to be complacent. They are coming from a good moment and showing that they are capable of winning games. So, there’s space for destruction this time,” Riveiro said.

A win for Cape Town Spurs will be an incredible morale booster as the team continues to recover from the underwhelming performances from the first half of the season.
