Asanele Velebayi stood out for Cape Town Spurs in his debut season in the DStv Premiership. The youngster came through the ranks of the club’s development structures and was promoted to the first team for his skill.

The midfielder was an integral part of getting the Urban Warriors into the PSL and spent four seasons playing in the National First Division before doing so. As young as he is, Velebayi is a standout player because he’s played five consecutive seasons of professional football.

At the end of the 2023/24 season, he made 23 appearances in the PSL scoring one goal and providing an assist. He also featured in the Nedbank Cup.
