Spurs play goalless draw against AmaTuks

Cape Town Spurs played to a goalless draw against AmaTuks in the Motsepe Foundation Championship at the AmaTuks Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The match was one of a high-tempo but none of the teams could muster up an attack that was decent enough to get the ball into the back of the net.

The first half was one of high-intensity, with Cape Town Spurs looking dominant on the ball and in the middle of the park. Tshepo Gumede came close to opening the scoring but his effort was tipped over the crossbar by Tuks goalkeeper Ayanda Dlamini.

The second half followed the same trend with the Urban Warriors keeping most of the possession but struggling to breakthrough beyond the midfield. Colin Ryan’s shot on goal forced another save from Dlamini in the 55th minute.

Towards the end of the match, Chumani Butsaka took a powerful shot on goal but it was also saved after he received a remarkable through pass from Liam Bern.

The match ended goalless and the Urban Warriors took home a point in their first match of the season in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
