Urban Warriors take on AmaTuks to kick-off 2024/25 campaign

Cape Town Spurs will go up against University of Pretoria in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Sunday afternoon at the Tuks Stadium.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

This encounter will be Spurs’ first of the season, and it is the beginning Ernst Middendorp’s project to take the club back to the top-flight.

The team has made six signings ahead to the start of the campaign, one of them including former Kaizer Chiefs player Keletso Sifama who has joined on loan from Sekhukhune United.

Daylon Claasen, Tawfeeq Salie, Ebrahim Seedat, Enock Atta Agyel and Angelo Barotte have also joined the team.

The Urban Warriors might possibly have a challenging match on their hands as AmaTuks came close to promotion to the Betway Premiership last season. Middendorp’s dedication to the club’s project should help the team navigate the match well.

“We are very clear, we want the team to play in a certain way and to execute that consistently and precisely,” he says.
