Urban Warriors take on Venda in next MFC clash 

In their next Motsepe Foundation Championship match, Cape Town Spurs will take on Venda Football Club on Friday evening at the UWC Stadium. Kick-off is at 19h30 CAT.

Last time out, the Urban Warriors earned a point away to AmaTuks in their first match of the league and it is imperative that they get maximum points against Venda.

Spurs are 11th on the league table as it stands and Venda are currently bottom of the standings having lost their first match against Milford.

Earlier this week, Spurs confirmed the signing of striker Mervin Boji from Stellenbosch FC. 

Boji was yet to establish himself in the first team but showed impressive skill as he featured in the DStv Diski Challenge. He scored 30 goals from 31 appearances in the competition.                             

Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has also given an update on teenage sensation Luke Baartman ahead of the match as there have been transfer rumours swirling about the player.

“Boere is writing Matric, we’ve decided to let the boy focus. And no, he is not for sale,” he said.
