Mervin Boji is native to Stellenbosch and made a name for himself in the DStv Diski Challenge after scoring an impressive 31 goals in just 30 appearances for the Maroons reserves as they won back-to-back titles in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

The 23-year-old striker scooped the DStv Diski Challenge Top Goalscorer award in May 2023 following his 18-goal haul for Stellies that season as they retained their crown and he made his first-team debut against Royal AM in the Premiership on 13 August 22.

Boji went on to play 37 times in all competitions for Steve Barker’s side, scoring three goals in the process, but has since made the switch to Spurs as a replacement for Ashley Cupido, who moved in the opposite direction, in a bid to get more game-time under Ernst Middendorp.
