Must win fixture for Spurs versus Leopards
Cape Town Spurs find themselves in 10th position of the Motsepe Foundation Championship standings, and it is imperative for the team to start picking up more wins in the league.
Since the team is seeking promotion back into the Betway Premiership, the clash against Black Leopards at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday afternoon is an all-important one.
Kick-off is at 15h30 CAT.
Last Saturday’s run of fixtures saw Spurs face a 1-0 defeat against Kruger United, further delaying their progress in the log.
As for their opposition, Black Leopards, the team is in decent form and are coming off the back of a 2-1 victory against Durban City at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
The Urban Warriors will be expected to halt Leopards in Sunday’s match, as a win for them could move them to the top of the table.
Since this is a home fixture, Spurs will be expected to step up in this one and get their campaign on the road in a quest to retain good form.
Leopards will be without their key right-back, Tebogo Makobela. The 32-year-old defender is still serving a suspension after being sent off in their match against JDR Stars two weeks ago.
