Warriors face defeat against Leopards

Cape Town Spurs were defeated 2-1 by Black Leopards at the Athlone Stadium in their Motsepe Foundation Championship clash on Sunday afternoon.

Black Leopards opened the scoring in Cape Town courtesy of a goal scored by Bethuel Muzeu just before the end of the first half and the Urban Warriors found themselves behind at the half-time break.

The second stanza saw two more goals scored, and the Urban Warriors battled to get back into the game. The second goal of the match was unfortunately from Ebrahim Seedat, the defender put the ball into the back of his own net.

Spurs pulled one back in the second in the 73rd minute through captain Asanele Velebayi, however it was unfortunately not enough for the team to at least grab a point because their opposition were two goals ahead at the time.

As a result, Leopards have climbed to second in the MFC standings, and Spurs have dropped down to 12th.
