Spurs’ 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship victories

Following the conclusion of a difficult 2024/25 campaign, here’s a look at Cape Town Spurs’ victories throughout the last season.

Spurs’ registered six wins during the recent Motsepe Foundation Championship season, five of which was recorded on home soil.

The first win of the campaign came during matchday two, where the Urban Warriors saw out a 1-0 win against Venda Football Academy at the University of the Western Cape Stadium in August 2024. In what was a hard fought battle in Bellville, Mervin Boji’s own goal in the 90^th minute eventually separated the two sides on the afternoon.

Spurs did not wait long for their next victory, as Asanele Velebayi and Jarrod Moroole got their names on the scoresheet in a 2-1 win against Hungry Lions at Athlone Stadium on the 23^rd of September 2024.

The Warriors then had to wait until the 10^th of January for their third win of the season, as Therlo Moosa’s solitary effort earned maximum points in a 1-0 win against Casric Stars on home soil.

While Spurs bagged a 2-1 win against Highbury thereafter, Ernst Middendorp and company then recorded their first away victory of the campaign during a 2-0 win against Baroka at the Global Stadium on the 14^th of March, 2025.

Spurs’ last win of the campaign arrived on the 22^nd of April, where Khaya Mfecane, Denzel Du Plessis, Luke Baartman and Keenan Bezuidenhout scored in a 4-0 win against Pretoria Callies at Athlone Stadium,
