‘Maka’ reminisce on good Urban Warriors memories
Mkhanyiseli Siwahla, a name etched in PSL history, recently paid a visit to the Ikamva training ground where he once laced his boots alongside some of the best footballers in the country.
‘Maka’ as he is fondly known, holds the record for youngest player to score in the PSL, after he got his name on the scoresheet against Dynamos in an ABSA Cup game at the tender age of 15 years and five months old in 2004.
Sitting in the seat he once occupied as a youngster in the dressing room, Siwahla mentioned that the Urban Warriors gave him ‘life’.
“Eish, When I walked in I wanted to cry,” Maka said.
“This is the place where they gave me life. South Africa knows me because of this place, I travelled the world because of this place.
“My first account, my first flight, everything, my first girlfriend as well because I played for this club
“The club did everything for me, I will always appreciate what they did for me.”
