De Sa’s past and future with Spurs
Roger de Sa has returned to Cape Town Spurs as the club’s new technical director, a vastly different role from the one he occupied in his first stint at the club.
De Sa was head coach at the club from February 2014 until October 2016, joining from Orlando Pirates and taking charge of 91 matches.
In the 2014/15 campaign, De Sa’s first full season in charge, he guided the Urban Warriors to a fifth-place finish in the PSL. De Sa led the team to 12 wins, eight draws and 10 losses in the season, finishing just six points behind his former employer.
The club and De Sa parted ways in October 2016, with the coach joining Platinum Stars after.
The veteran coach’s experience, both in the country and more recently abroad, will be a vital asset for the club as it continues on its quest to ensure sustainability and quality on the pitch.
