Impressive Spurs book Coca Cola quarter-final spot
Cape Town Spurs advanced to the SAFA Cape Town Coca Cola Amateur Cup quarter-finals after a dominant performance.
The Urban Warriors took on FN Rangers St Agnes in the Round of 16 at the Rooikrans Sports Complex in Grassy Park this past weekend.
It was a match which saw Spurs emerge as 3-0 winners over Rangers with Hlumani Lupuwana, Aqeel Hess and Fagan Van Der Vint scoring.
Therefore, the Urban Warriors progressed to the quarter-finals, having grabbed three goals and kept a clean sheet in the process.
Spurs had reached this stage of the under-18 tournament after overcoming Eagles Performance Academy in the Round of 32.
Team captain Alastair Frans scored as the Urban Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw and Spurs went on to emerge as 3-1 winners on penalties.
The Urban Warriors will be hoping to go all the way and clinch the Coca Cola trophy, having already won this year’s Bayview Youth Tournament.
