Spurs target Coca Cola Amateur Cup quarter-final spot
Cape Town Spurs will be in action in the SAFA Cape Town Coca Cola Amateur Cup Round of 16 on Sunday, August 31.
The Urban Warriors are scheduled to travel to the Rooikrans Sports Complex in Grassy Park, where they will face FN Rangers St Agnes.
Spurs reached this stage of the under-18 tournament after overcoming Eagles Performance Academy in the Round of 32 on August 17.
Team captain Alastair Frans scored as the Urban Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw and Spurs went on to emerge as 3-1 winners on penalties.
It was a match that saw Ayaan Landers, who called up due to injuries to two of our under-18 goalkeepers, shine during the shootout.
Landers saved two spot-kicks to win it, inspiring the Urban Warriors to the next stage, while Rangers defeated JL Zwane 2-0 in their Round of 32 clash.
The match between Spurs and Rangers will kick off at 12h00 at Rooikrans Sports Complex’s Field A.
