Spurs held in Cape Derby by old foes

Cape Town Spurs resumed their 2025/26 ABC Motsepe League Stream A campaign with a match against Santos FC.

The two former PSL Premiership clubs locked horns at the William Herbert Sports Complex in Wynberg, Cape Town, on Wednesday.

Urban Warriors got off to a good start and Shaquille Abrahams handed the visitors a well deserved lead with a stunning strike.

However, Santos fought back and levelled matters from a set-piece to ensure that the Cape Derby ended in a 1-1 draw.

The action in the South African third-tier will continue this weekend with Spurs visiting another old foes, Vasco Da Gama.

Vasco will play host to their former local top-flight rivals, Spurs, at Parow Park on Saturday, with three important points at stake.

Kick-off is at 15h00.
