McKuchane ‘incredibly excited’ after joining Spurs
Promising teenager Ziaad ‘Zaykie’ McKuchane has expressed his delight at joining the famed Cape Town Spurs academy.
The midfielder has joined the Urban Warriors from Kimberley, Northern Cape’s Academy of Sparks, having served as the vice-captain of the under-13 side.
McKuchane was among the players and parents who were present as Spurs opened the gates to a “New Era” at Ikamva last month.
This marked the launch of a revitalised, professional, and revamped home for the club, heavily supported by partner Kappa South Africa.
“I am incredibly excited for this new journey,” McKuchane, who was born in Colville, Kimberley, said on DFA.
“I know the road ahead is tough, but I am fully committed to doing the extra work in training to make my dreams a reality.
“This achievement is not only for me but for every young boy with a dream,” he added.
“Most importantly, this one is for my home team, the Academy of Sparks. This is not goodbye, because goodbyes are for good. I will check you guys next time.”
McKuchane will be nurtured in the Spurs academy, which remains among the best in the country.
