Urban Warriors rally to down Dikwena

Ajax Cape Town scored three goals in a blistering finish to claim a 3-1 win over Platinum Stars in a thrilling Absa Premiership encounter at Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening.

Tercious Malepe, Tashreeq Morris and Tendai Ndoro finding the back of the net for the hosts; as the Urban Warriors climb up to 13th spot on the log standings.

The hosts dominated possession for most of the opening half, but it would be the visitors to hit the front. Vuyo Mere tested Brandon Petersen with a rasping shot before the Dikwena captain picked out Zama Rambuwane for the game’s first with 40 minutes on the clock.

The wing-wizard on hand to nod home Mere’s pin-point cross from the right flank to give Roger De Sa’s troops a narrow 1-0 lead at the break.

Malepe’s strike breathed new life into the hosts who duly took the lead through Morris in the 82nd minute – Ajax Cape Town’s top scorer this season with a thumping finish from the edge of the area.

Ndoro, on his Urban Warriors debut, made sure of the win with a instinctive finish in added time. Visser with no chance as the ball cannoned off the inside off the crossbar and into the back of the net.
