Muhsin Ertugral marvelled at Urban Warriors fightback

Ajax Cape Town head coach Muhsin Ertugral reserved special praise for his troops in aftermath of the club’s 3-1 win over Platinum Stars at Cape Town Stadium on Friday evening.

The Urban Warriors shifted into gear with 17 minutes of regulation time remaining. Tercious Malepe’s close range finish pulled the hosts level before Tashreeq Morris powered home an unstoppable shot to give us the lead.

Tendai Ndoro capped off a devastating spell of attacking football with a goal on debut to send the home fans into delirium.

Following disappointing results against Maritzburg United and Mamelodi Sundowns to kick-off the year, victory over Dikwena comes as a massive boost to the Urban Warriors with Derby Day looming large…

“I must really take my hat off,” said Ertugral in the aftermath. “The way the boys came back following a tough encounter on Tuesday [against Sundowns], the last 20 minutes we played them [Platinum Stars] completely off the park.

“We did a lot of things right in the final minutes, it was just marvelous to watch.

“I must really take my hat off. We should now focus on building on this, winning gives us the trust that we can continue to move up the log standings.”

Next up for Ajax Cape Town is a clash against Cape Town City on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off in the Mother City is set for 15h30 CAT.
