Ajax Cape Town forward Lassina Traore has set his sights on claiming the top accolade at the Terborg Toernooi this weekend.
The 17-year-old forward will lead the line for Young Ajax in Terborg, the Netherlands, with the Cape club to kick-off their quest for silverware against Club Brugge this evening.
“I am very excited to play in this tournament,” said Traore. “I’ve heard good things about this tournament and I’m really happy to be participating here in Terborg this year with my teammates.
“The first game is very important, all our focus is on Club Brugge and that is what we are thinking about right now.
“Personally I hope to be the top scorer here in Terborg and that we will win the cup,” Traore concluded.
The Urban Warriors will take on De Graafschap and Palmeiras tomorrow with the knockout stages to commence and conclude on Sunday.
Ajax Cape Town finished as runners-up at last year’s tournament in Terborg with Leo Thethani walking away with both the Player and Top Goal Scorer of the Tournament accolades.
