Spurs welcome Toriq Losper back to Ikamva
Cape Town Spurs are delighted to welcome Toriq Losper back to Ikamva.
Losper, 28, is no stranger to everyone affiliated to the club having first arrived at Spurs’ Ikamva base as a nine-year-old.
After working his way through the youth ranks he got his first taste of professional football in the 2011-12 season.
Urban Warriors head coach Ian Taylor is excited to be reunited with Losper and knows what he will bring to the team.
“I coached him when he was an academy player many years ago so I know him very well,” said Taylor.
“I know his strengths and he is very comfortable being back home, this is his home and I know what I can get from him and what he can bring to the team going forward. I am very happy to have him.
“He is a smart player, extremely smart. Always looks to play forward. He is three steps ahead in terms of identifying spaces. In defence, he communicates well, marks the spaces and man-marks players effectively and that is exactly what I am expecting of him.”
Spurs next face rivals Steenberg United in a 2020-21 GladAfrica Championship match at Cape Town Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
