Dortley: ‘The job is not done’

As Cape Town Spurs prepare to take on Motsepe Foundation Championship log leaders Polokwane City, Urban Warriors defender Rushwin Dortley said that the club is fully focused on the job at hand after climbing up the league table.

Following Spurs’ 2-0 win against All Stars last week, coach Shaun Bartlett and his troops jumped into third spot on the log, just three points behind leaders Polokwane City.

With Rise & Shine lined up as the next opponents, Dortley mentioned that the club is in a good space at the moment but will not rest on their laurels in what is one of their toughest games of the season yet.

“The last game against All Stars was a very good game for us,” Dortley said.

“There were a lot of positives that we took out of that game. The way we started the game was good, very energetic. That’s what we want from the whole team, including players coming in off the bench, giving the same energy.

“For us being in the top 3, it feels good, everyone is in a good space, everyone is happy but the job is not done,  we have to do a lot to gain promotion to the PSL.

“The game against Polokwane, it’s going to be a tough game because both of us want the three points to move up the log  and get points to secure the league.

“We will fight hard, run hard and score goals, we will do our best to bring the three points back to Ikamva.”
