‘It was total domination’

Morne Nel described Cape Town Spurs’ recent 3-0 win over Baroka in the Nedbank Cup as ’total domination’, with the Urban Warriors advancing to the Round of 16 last week.

In hosting Baroka at the Athlone Stadium on February 10, goals from Therlo Moosa, Chumani Butsaka and Collin Ryan ensured Spurs’ passage to the next phase of the popular tournament.

Despite a tense first half, Spurs’ bossed the encounter and eventually breached the Baroka defence in the second-half. Nel, who picked up the Man of the Match award after the game, urged the Urban Warriors to remain consistent.

“We played fairly well, it was a rough first half,”  said Nel.

“However, still total domination for the full 90 minutes, I think the three goals says it all.

“We are just grateful that we moved into the Round of 16, that’s the most important thing at this moment in time, consistency in everything we do.

“For me, total domination from us.”
