Bartlett on maintaining a winning momentum
With Cape Town Spurs back at home in the Motsepe Foundation Championship this week, Urban Warriors coach Shaun Bartlett has reiterated the need to make Athlone Stadium a fortress.
Spurs will now shift their attention to TTM on Wednesday, as they seek to extend their unbeaten run in the league to six games.
The Urban Warriors are currently on a seven-match winning streak at Athlone Stadium, as Bartlett mentioned the importance of maintaining their winning momentum on home soil.
“Following a hard fought win against Uthongathi last time out in Durban, we continue our run,” Bartlett said.
“We continue the momentum, which is great. For us it’s important to start picking up results away from home.
“Our home form has been unbelievable thus far and that’s what we are hoping to continue. We’ve said many times that Athlone should become the slaughterhouse for most opponents coming there and it will continue again on Wednesday.
“We’ve got a fully fit squad but as a technical team, we always look to rotate and get fresh legs onto the field. We will utilise the whole squad in order to achieve our goal this season.”
