Spurs’ Nedbank Cup fixture set for early March

As Cape Town Spurs continue to tick off their duties in the 2022/23 football campaign, the date and time for the upcoming Nedbank Cup Round of 16 clash against Sekhukhune United has been confirmed. 

The Urban Warriors faced fellow Motsepe Foundation Championship side Baroka FC in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 earlier this month, recording a convincing 3-0 win at the Athlone Stadium. 

Drawn to face Sekhukhune United in the Round of 16, the tie has been officially scheduled for Friday, March 10, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium (Kick off is at 7:30pm).

The Urban Warriors and Babina Noko met on two occasions in South Africa’s first division, with each side recording a win a piece. During the 2020/21 campaign, Sekhukhune claimed a 4-1 win over Spurs at the DHL Stadium on February 13, 2021.

In the return fixture, which took place on March 11 2021, the Urban Warriors recorded a 1-0 win at the Makhulong Stadium.
