Spurs gear up for Baroka encounter
Cape Town Spurs are back at home this week as the Urban Warriors prepare to take on Baroka FC in their latest Motsepe Foundation Championship tie on Tuesday afternoon.
In seeking automatic promotion, Spurs occupy second spot on the log and trail Polokwane City by two points going into the next game week.
The Urban Warriors head into the encounter on the back of a 2-0 loss to Sekhukhune United in the Nedbank Cup, a game that produced many lessons according to coach Shaun Bartlett.
“Im not sure if the occasion overwhelmed some of the players,” Bartlett said.
“Somebody told me, we haven’t played a night game in five years, so it makes a major difference.
“The ball goes quicker, it’s a little bit more slick. I’m not making excuses but I think the players did fairly well.
“We’ve got to move on now and obviously learn from this (the defeat) and start focusing on the league where we want to end number one.”
