Spurs make it 10 home wins in a row
Cape Town Spurs marched on in their pursuit of a promotional place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship on Tuesday afternoon, claiming a 3-2 win over Baroka FC at the Athlone Stadium.
Spurs got the game off to a positive start and immediately asserted themselves on the ball. In finding their passing rhythm early on in the tie, the Urban Warriors began taking the game to their opponents.
Roped into the starting XI, Therlo Moosa gave Spurs the lead in the 18th minute as Spurs stroked the ball around with ease. However, the visitors levelled matters at the half-hour mark.
Moosa completed his brace five minutes short of the hour mark and headed home a pin-point cross swung into the area by Liam Bern. In rounding off the scoreline for Spurs, Boitumelo Radiopane continued his fine form infront of goal with his effort in the 85th minute.
With the win, the Urban Warriors have now recorded their 10th straight league win at home as the Athlone Stadium proves to be a fortress for Bartlett and company.
