Spurs off to winning start in PSL playoffs
Cape Town Spurs got their PSL promotion play-off bid to a flying start following a 1-0 victory against Casric Stars at the Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
In walking out to a packed Solomon Mahlangu Stadium this weekend, Spurs held most of the ball during the early stages of the match. While the home team produced a couple of goal scoring opportunities, the Urban Warriors held their own and fended off Casric Stars attacking advancements.
Spurs dominated the majority of the second 45 and played most of their football inside the Casric half. The Urban Warriors’ pressure paid off in the 67th minute, as Ashley Cupido managed to get his name on the score sheet yet again.
After a strong finish to the encounter, Spurs claimed three vital points in KwaMhlanga.
