Spurs CEO responds to claims regarding players
Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has responded to accusations about overvaluing players amidst the current transfer window.
The club has faced criticism for allegedly placing too high of a value on the price tag of academy graduates from the club. Efstathiou has defended the club’s stance on the sale of players, insisting that it’s not only one team that is interested in their talent being singled out.
“We understand our business, we understand the value of our players and the quality they will bring to any club,” he told iDiski Times.
“We’ve done what we’ve done, you need to do what you need to do from your side,” he added.
“We have a contract with the players. We’ve developed them as players and it is now the club’s opportunity to bear the fruits of that development process that in this case took 10 years to do.”
“The club won’t be held at ransom by anyone.”
