Spurs keep up winning streak with Hungry Lions victory
Cape Town Spurs moved up to fourth place in the Motsepe Foundation Championship following their 2-1 win against Hungry Lions at the Athlone Stadium on Monday afternoon.
The team fought back from a goal down to collect all three points, with second half goals scored by Asanele Velebayi and Jarrod Moroole sealing the deal.
The match was one that was highly contested, with both teams showing hunger to score and keep possession.
However, it was the Urban Warriors’ fighting spirit that ensured that the team grabbed the win.
Spurs are still unbeaten in the league with two wins and draws, and as it stands are on track to topping the table, with only goal difference separating them from first place.
The Urban Warriors’ next match will see them travel away to face Durban City at the Chatsworth Stadium on Friday evening.
