New date for Spurs’ semi-final match revealed

Cape Town Spurs have discovered the date for their Bayview Youth Tournament fixture against Newmans FC.

The two teams were scheduled to meet in a platinum semi-final match last week, but the game was called off due to inclement weather.

The much-anticipated game for the Spurs under-16 side will now be played on Sunday, July 13, with a spot in the platinum final at stake. 

The Urban Warriors booked their spot in the semi-finals after securing a 2-0 victory over Central in a quarter-final encounter, with Emmanuel Kaba scoring twice. 

Spurs had reached the quarter-finals after securing a 2-0 victory over Wanderers courtesy of goals from Lincoln Daniels and Somila Mbawula in the Round of 16.

The team was unstoppable in the group stage, as they overcame R2CT 3-1, before defeating Oriental Gunners 7-1 and claiming a 4-0 win over Blue Bells. 

The match between Spurs and Newmans will be played at the Strandfontein Sports Field. Kick-off is at 10h30 am.
