Spurs star nominated at PSL Awards after impressive displays

Cape Town Spurs attacker Luke Baartman has been nominated for an accolade at the 2025 Premier Soccer League (PSL) Awards.

The teenage sensation caught the eye with displays in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season under coach Ernst Middendorp.

Baartman was sidelined by an injury, but he hit the ground running after returning to action, which saw him score three goals in 12 league games.

The 19-year-old has been nominated for the Motsepe Foundation Championship Young Player of the Season accolade as a reward for his performances.

Baartman is nominated along with Teboho Lekhatla of Casric Stars and Milford FC’s Siphamandla Mhlongo, who also enjoyed a good campaign.

The 2025 PSL Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 29 July, live on the SuperSport PSL channel and SABC Sport.
